We use a large range of drones to ensure we have the best camera for the type of shot you need.
We hold an advanced UAS OSC permit from the CAA that allows us to fly in locations other operators can't. This is because our operating limits allow for far more flexibility, giving us more areas we can use to fly from.
Minimum separation to the public and property:
Standard - 50m / our UAS OSC - 5m
Minimum separation to crowds of over 1,000 persons:
Standard - 50m / our UAS OSC - 30m
Maximum altitude above surface:
Standard - 400ft / our UAS OSC - 600ft
If all you need is a couple of shots for a website, or a quick roof inspection of your gutters, we have the small but powerful DJI Mavic range of drones, including the Mini 2, Air 2S, Mavic Pro and more.
The benefits of these small drones are:
Quick and safe to deploy nearly anywhere.
Small and discreet, so not disturbing to neighbours and wildlife.
Cheaper to operate and we pass that saving on to you.
For high end photography requirements, we have a range of full frame and medium format cameras.
When your project calls for absolute quality we have the amazing 30mp full frame Canon 5Dmk4 or the power house 100mp medium format Hassleblad H6D.
The benefits of these camera systems are:
Superior image quality and resolution.
Superior colours and dynamic range.
Far more lens and filters to choose from to ensure the perfect image is taken.
Images that can be printed to a much larger scale without losing detail.
Images that carry more digital information, allowing for more editing and creative control.
This will depend very much on the type of photograph you want to capture.
A true sunny day can give nice blue skies, but also strong shadows, so understanding what you want to photograph and more importantly the use of the image is critical to us providing you the best service.
Some drone operators will use the limits of the rules for different drones to tell you either what is possible, or what is best.
The reality is that the camera you need will rest 100% on how you intend to use your photographs once you have them.
If going on a website then most computers are HD at most, or 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is only the equivalent to 2mp, with a 4K monitor coming in at 8.8mp. So even a 12mp camera is more than enough to allow us room to edit and even crop the image without loss of quality.
If you want to print your images then resolution is much higher, but a 12mp image is still good up to around A3 in size. Once beyond A3, the lower resolution starts to be noticeable. So if you want say a large wall art in your office lobby, then more detail is needed.
As a guide we recommend 12mp up to a maximum of A3, 20mp up to a maximum of A2 and for anything bigger you need 30mp or more.
Think about the time of day that will create the best results for the image you want, both visually and in terms of the information you want in your photo.
There are times of the day where the angle or direction of the sun will be best for your photo.
There will also be times of day where your subject is either quiet or busy.
As a simple rule we shoot all images in RAW and include photo editing with our quotes, as we want to make sure you get only the best images.
We can usually do this within 24/48 hours of the photos being taken, depending only on how much editing your project needs.
If speed of turn around is more important, then we can shoot jpeg straight in the camera or drone.
